Can a static universe satisfy Mach’s principle?

Mach's principle states that every mass in the universe influences every other mass. Crucially, Mach's principle inspired Einstein to formulate General relativity. Although his final theory did not adhere to this principle, Mach's ideas continue to inspire scientific thinking. Nevertheless, Einstein's equations can be expressed in a form that lacks time dependence. The resulting static universe presents an apparent contradiction to observed reality. Page and Wootters recognized that changes in entangled systems can leave the global state of the cosmos unchanged.

Page and Wootters’ mechanism (PaW) predicts that quantum entanglement results in a static state for the universe. We uphold the principle by dividing the cosmos into compact and non-compact dimensions, insulating the wave function from space and gravity. In this scenario, entangled sister particles adhere to conservation principles independently of distance while modifying the local volume. Either pressure or vacuum generates an orthogonal transformation (interaction) to restore symmetry. Over time, space contracts in some areas and expands in others, resulting in curvature.

In extreme cases, the universe degenerates into poles. The loss of dimensionality produces two-dimensional black holes, while an increase in dimensionality forms four-dimensional white holes. The poles remain connected by a smooth topology, transforming gravity into a bipolar force. This verifiable hypothesis supersedes general relativity by satisfying Mach’s principle. Dimensional anisotropy suggests a possible path for unification with quantum mechanics.

  1. Interesting! I believe however, the ultimate answer and Grand Unification Theory will be when it is realized that the Universe did not "start" with a Big Bang. It is in a continuing state of creation through the invisible expansion within each of the only primary components making up the entire Universe, components that I call "space bubbles". It is this expansion from within that causes all of the intangible properties of the Universe; time, matter, energy, gravity, inertia, fields of all types, etc. Time results as space expands linearly from within. Energy of all kinds is rooted in the volume expansion of these space bubbles into an infinite Void of non-Universe space. http://danbowlds.blogspot.com/2018/01/the-ultimate-atom.html

I agree with you that the universe did not start with a Big Bang, as shown in my book, 'The Science of Consciousness.'
