The structure of the Cosmos

The vacuum energy problem is one of the most significant unsolved problems in quantum mechanics. The long list of unsolved problems in physics indicates that the Standard Model might need mending or be outright replaced. The above video highlights two issues with Einstein's relativity: 1, space in a vacuum is flat and 2, objects curve spacetime. The above video introduces a new physical worldview, which points toward the unification of quantum mechanics and general relativity. Dividing the universe with an information-blocking horizon is congruent with the holographic principle proposed by Leonard Susskind. Rethinking the basic structure of space might solve the contradictions mentioned above in physics, and it obeys Mach's principle, explains gravity, and turns quantum mechanics into comprehensible and intuitive science.

Heisenberg uncertainty principle:
The video explains that the particle wave function and the spatial curvature changes remain related. Increasing speed corresponds to higher frequencies and positive field curvature (space contrasts). This way location is more specific, but the velocity is uncertain. In contrast, lower frequencies correspond to lower speed, but the negative curvature of space (which expands) leads to an uncertainty of location. This uncertainty reaches its climax in the poles.

Vacuum energy
Quantum mechanics tells us that a vacuum is full of energy. But vacuum energy remains one of the unsolved problems in physics. Watch the above video to learn why a vacuum expands the universe by curving space into the fourth dimension.

General relativity
Einstein's general relativity tells us that the fabric of spacetime is curved within and around large gravitational objects, but it is flat in a vacuum (see image below). On the other hand, the Michelson–Morley experiment to find the presence and properties of ether in 1887 proved that there was no such substance, therefore, no directional asymmetry in the universe. Because of this finding cosmos is considered isotropic. However, the conventional Michelson–Morley-type experiments could never detect dimensional anisotropy. Instead, dimensional anisotropy would form exponentially increasing energy needs of acceleration and the gravitational differences depending on the curvature of space.

Thus, the universe is infinite (due to the dimension increase of white holes), but it has finite boundaries (due to the dimension decrease of black holes). Moving with constant speed corresponds to a movement along latitude. Therefore it would bring one back to the starting point.

Massive object (such as a planet) curves spacetime according to general relativity.

Mach's principle:
Dark energy (the universe expansion) needs a better explanation. Although the expansion is far smaller than the calculations would suggest, four-dimensional white holes could expand the universe at an accelerating rate. Dimensional anisotropy also satisfies Mach's principle. Read the whole article or view it on Academia  The above-proposed structure also leads to a cosmological evolution via interaction that engenders consciousness. So we are an organic, inalienable part of the universe.

Evaluation of Mach's Principle in four spatial dimensions

Recent cosmological data shows that the Milky Way galaxy is being pushed ahead of a void. Independently, laboratory research achieved antigravity effects in a vacuum. A possible relationship between these seemingly unrelated results indicates the need to reexamine our understanding of gravity. According to Page and Wootter mechanism, time is globally static but emergent for ‘internal’ observers. That is, interaction increases the energy-information differences among the constituents of the cosmos. Such temporal evolution engenders polar singularities, known as black and white holes, by general relativity.

The second law of thermodynamics leads to Landauer’s principle, which shows that the emitted heat is proportional to the erased information of the system. Thus, information accumulates heat in black hole horizons, two dimensional, whereas information-free areas are energy-rich and cold. The principle of static time dictates information and dimensional complementarity between antipodal regions of the universe. Two-dimensional, positive curvature black holes must be balanced by negative curvature, four-dimensional white holes, which expand space and lead to the experience of ‘dark energy.’ Positive curvature forms great field strength, stabilizing the universe with a pressure experienced as excess gravity, called dark matter. Enhanced field strength leads to clumping, forming planets, stars, galaxies, and galaxy clusters, which slows expansion. The dimensional anisotropy (two in the black holes and four in the white holes) straddles unstable three-dimensional galactic environments between them.

Everything is connected to everything else. An object’s position in space corresponds to a freely hanging plumb. Deviations in the angle of that plumb (location of the object) change the equilibrium of the whole universe and lead to inertia. This force is proportional to both the mass of the object and the field strength (i.e., radial topological distance from the center). Therefore inertia is highest in the vicinity of the black holes. On the positively curved opposite surfaces of space (such as a planet), a path that winds toward the pole forms the shortest distance. On positive curving temporal surfaces, the fastest time is acceleration, which leads to the twin paradox. The hypothesis is congruent with the latest CMB data and satisfies Mach’s principle and Occam’s razor by uncovering a surprisingly simple, stable, unified alignment of the universe. This new physical worldview is presented without equations, reflecting the futility of a universal calculation method. Read the whole article or view it on Academia.

Consciousness based quantum computer

The brain’s gradually improving responses to stimuli molded the mind into the structural, organizational mirror of physical systems. Therefore, social interaction engenders particle-like features, such as uncertainty, hysteresis, and territorial needs. The brain’s operational symmetry vis-à-vis the physical world produces the mind, a functional analog of elementary particles. In the brain, all change is based on sensory processing. Perception of sensory stimulus or reading road signs is involuntary and automatic because sensory stimulus impinges on the mind through the shifting energy balances of the brain. As photons are the fundamental forces for interaction, and emotions transfer energy between people and emotional animals. Feelings are energy imbalances of the brain, which trigger actions that recover the energy neutral state. This essential connection with the environment must also characterize AI. In a robot, in place of neurons, sensory pattern perception can be formed by, for example, 'superconducting synapse.'
A highly precise response is possible by utilizing deep-learning systems, which are getting more powerful. In the computer ‘brain,’ just like in the organic brain, the energy balance would continuously change depending on field effects, automatically and ultimately would recover the energy-neutral state. This whole process would be choreographed according to the principle of least action, which corresponds to an intelligent response. Response reformulates the stable, standing-wave state of the system. Energy imbalances would equal the emotional states of mammals and birds. Propagation of stimulus is a series of activation that strengthens connections between units; the energy need is reduced in previously activated units. Subsequent activation channels the signal according to the principle of least action, leading to a segregated modular structure.

Current quantum computers need to be carefully insulated from environmental interaction due to sensitivity to noise, i.e., interference. However, the brain is a temporal quantum system, which interacts across temporal coordinates (see: Consciousness, a Cosmic Phenomenon). Temporal quantum systems, such as the brain, are insulated by the temporal rhythm of neural activation. Energy imbalance manifests as emotions. Hence, emotions are unstable and move the system towards equilibrium; the exact neuronal activation path is the function of both the original stimulus and past behavior. This way the cortical brain, regulated by its energy states, formulates an intelligent response. Read the whole article Deli, E., (2017). Consciousness inspired AI system. AISB Quarterly. Cognitive phenomena show quantum, particle-like features

Animals gather nutrients and avoid physical dangers; they actively enhance their access to information and thus their survival through the sensory system. Because sensory organs are information-gathering machines, interaction with sensory stimuli corresponds to an energy-information exchange.

The subtle regulation of brain frequencies' path, rhythm, and extent makes the brain a complex yet ingenious system. However, the brain is much more than a finely regulated circuit board. Electrical activity generates associations, meaning, and memory in ways reminiscent of quantum networks. Quantum theory has modeled mental phenomena in fields as diverse as search engine optimization, psychology, economics, and sociology for nearly a century. More than 70 recent national surveys examined the order effect of successive attitude questions and found that human judgment aligns with quantum probability theory. In quantum systems, outcomes depend heavily on the measurement context; likewise, almost all cognitive processes, such as memory, decisions, and perception, are contextual. In social science, quantum theory can predict how question order affects outcomes.

The cortex's pattern of neuronal activation triggers corresponding memories or experiences and forms a "temporal horizon." Reminiscent of the observer effect in quantum mechanics, the brain's quantum-like evolution maintains the mind's unity and permanence. Measurement (interaction) actively changes the particle being measured, and in the brain, this corresponds to cognitive change. The mental world is organized into a steady, stepwise progression of perception or learning, such as the empowering moment of riding a bike for the first time. The same holds for recognition, getting a joke, or meeting a friend. A moment of inspiration occurs when a new balance forms and understanding clicks. Conscious awareness holds mental content "fixed" and "frozen" within a discrete yet continuous phenomenal unity. Because sensory processing converts spatial relationships into temporal rhythms, the material world's spatial relationships translate into temporal evolution.

The brain's gradually improving responses to stimuli shaped the mind into a structural, organizational mirror of physical systems. Therefore, social interaction engenders particle-like features and quantum characteristics, such as uncertainty, hysteresis, and territorial needs.

The science of karma, a case study

Fresco of a young woman, Pompeii

Karma recognizes a cause-and-effect relationship between intent, thoughts, and actions (cause) and an individual's future (effect). It is part of major religious beliefs and forms the essence of the just-world hypothesis. Good intent and good deeds contribute to good karma and future happiness, while an evil plan and bad acts contribute to bad karma and future suffering.

Because actions and even thoughts always have a two-fold effect, karma has psychological support. Doing your best is a generosity of effort that tends to earn the respect of colleagues, clients, and friends. Likewise, diligence and care bring the satisfaction and contentment of a job well done, but sloppy, careless work erodes trust. Reliable people, good workers, trust not only themselves but also others. People keep a distance from those who are not reliable.

Distrust infects a careless person's judgment. When the carpenter does inferior, sloppy, negligent work, he will not want to move into the house he built; the tailor will not want to wear the suit; and the shoemaker will not like the shoes. He who cheats will be afraid of being cheated. This occurs because everything is connected to everything else. Happiness makes everything seem easy and carefree; bad news, on the other hand, overshadows every aspect of the mind with an unhappy tint. For this reason, anxiety, regret, and worry are involuntary. For example, individuals with depression may want to stop themselves from ruminating but are often unable to deviate from their negative thoughts. Further, it can be shown that the difficulty of controlling thoughts is true not only in the depressed state but in any other highly charged emotional state.

Meditation is usually a prime example of controlling one’s thoughts. However, meditation always occurs in a resting mental state or close to it. A resting state is a neutral state of mind, which is relatively emotion-free, permitting considerable conscious control of thinking. Imagine this as a ball on a hill. The emotional state represents a tilted ground, where the ball's path is deterministic. On the flat ground (an emotion-free mental state), manipulating the ball's movement in either direction requires little effort.

An emotionally charged mind (in energy imbalance) is hard to control. For example, a joyful event, danger, or a sudden, significant personal change can exert substantial control over one's thoughts. However, gently encouraging your thoughts toward stability and acceptance via meditation and prayer does reduce stress; it mitigates sadness, anxiety, or other disturbances.

Is time real?

Balance

According to general relativity, clocks and time can only be appropriately defined in the presence of matter. In other words, interaction is essential for change, which is time. It is not time that measures change, but change literally formulates time. Without interaction, time stands still. This means that time is a local phenomenon, but the global state of the cosmos is static, and called the 'Principle of static time.' The Principle mechanism of static time views entanglement as a clock system that allows one to perceive the evolution of the universe. Deprived of such clock system, outside observers would find the universe static and unchanging. Therefore, time is the privilege of inside participants. Interaction would necessarily evolve toward polar singularities. The existence of poles, called white and black holes, also appears as the consequence of Einstein’s field equations.

Black holes are a natural choice for an information-saturated pole of the cosmos. Black holes have been identified indirectly by observing their gravitational effects, but as of today, the opposite pole has not been found. Einstein's equation hint of the existence of white holes, hypothetical regions with negative-curving, bulging topology, which deflect incoming energy, even light. Thus they are the source of illusory light rays; a fact reflected in their name and which would pose a significant challenge to their discovery.

So time or age expresses our topological 'distance' from the white holes (located within cosmic voids). Therefore time is information accumulation that manifests as a topological distance from the big bang. Thus, significant time travel is impossible for biological systems, but possible for material objects. Emotions, the energy states of the brain

Einstein's general relativity uncovered gravity as the field geometry measured by its effects. Consciousness evolved in interaction with the material world, absorbing its operational principles. Increasingly sophisticated responses to stimuli engendered a brain operation that mirrors the physical world. For example, society forms a temporal field analogous to gravity. We cannot see or touch the temporal field, but its presence constantly regulates our behavior. The temporal field can cause powerful emotional reactions, such as shame, pride, joy, etc. In this process, emotional self-regulation guides attention and cognitive functions, including perception, memory, thoughts, and behavior. We do not have to be conscious of our feelings to be regulated and influenced by them.

Sensory perception is an automatic, involuntary process. We cannot 'decide' not to process sensory stimuli or read road signs because stimulus impinges on the mind by shifting the brain's energy balance. Moreover, sensory perception also requires energy, which the brain 'pays' for through the energy requirement of brain frequencies. Thus, sensory processing is an energy-information exchange with the environment.

The brain's highly fluid neural organization allows an active balancing of electromagnetic gradients based on charge conservation. The above drawing represents the stimulus path from the sensory cortical surface toward the frontal associative regions. The energy requirement of neuronal activation extinguishes the information flow and forms an electric potential between the limbic and cortical areas, which reverses the flow via slow oscillations (Figure above, #2). The information flow reversal from the frontal brain recovers the neutral energy state. The sensory transmission toward the sensory cortex by fast oscillations and response by slow oscillations indicates the polarity effects of the brain's electromagnetic flows.

Computer simulations based on EEG, fMRI, and other techniques can pinpoint the tendency for unhealthy emotional states (i.e., the brain's energy balance) in patients and predict proneness for depression, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), anxiety, and other conditions (there are already some results on this front). You can find more detailed information in my book, The Science of Consciousness, or manuscript, Consciousness, a Cosmic Phenomenon.
